The BCA’s Sustainable Energy and Resources Group, is delighted to be hosting HE Thierno Alassane Sall, Minister for Energy and the Development of Renewable Energy for a roundtable discussion. The event will be an opportunity to hear from the Minister on the future of the Energy Sector in Senegal and the role renewables will play in the coming years. Access to energy access will be a key component for Africa's long-term growth, investment in clean sources of energy such as solar power, wind power, hydroelectricity/micro hydro, biomass and biofuels thermal has the potential to drive the creation of long-term sustainable jobs and diversify economies.
The Minister will be joined by a high-level delegation including:

Minister SALL is a civil aviation and telecommunication engineer by background. Member of the presidential party steering committee, he has held, since President SALL’s election in 2012, several high governmental positions. Before being appointed Minister of Energy in July 2015, he was successively Director General of the Senegalese Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.

Mr GUEYE was appointed Government Spokesman and Minister for Government Communications in July 2015. He has also served as Secretary General of the Government of Senegal and held a number of other positions in government and politics.
Mr Mamadou FAYE

Mr FAYE graduated from the Institut Algerien du Pétrole in 1982 as a geophysicist. After working in Portugal with Atlantic Resources Limited for three years (a consulting firm focused on basin evaluation in West Africa), he joined Petrosen where he has held a range of positions. President SALL appointed him Petrosen’s Chief Executive Officer on September 2012.
Mrs Aminata Ndoye TOURE
Director Hydrocarbons, Ministry for Energy and Development of Renewable Energy
Mrs TOURE is a geological engineer. She has been Director Hydrocarbons since April 2014, having held a series of posts at the Ministry of Energy since 2002. Trained as a geologist in the same institute as President SALL, Mrs TOURE also holds a Masters degree in environmental issues with a specialisation in energy policy.
